Ranked and divisions explained
How Ranked works in Paintballer: placement matches, divisions from Bronze to Diamond, the Pro tier, seasons and soft resets.

Ranked is where your rating means something. Every match moves it, and your division shows the world how good you are.
Unlocking Ranked
Ranked opens at level 5, which takes a handful of matches. That gives you time to learn the controls before your results count. Ranked plays two playlists: Free for All and Team Deathmatch.
Placement matches
Your first 5 ranked matches are placements. Your rating moves during them, but your division stays hidden until they are done. Then it is revealed.
The divisions
Every division has three steps, III, II and I, each 100 rating points apart. Newcomers start at 1000, which is Silver I.
| Division | III | II | I |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze | below 600 | 600 | 700 |
| Silver | 800 | 900 | 1000 |
| Gold | 1100 | 1200 | 1300 |
| Platinum | 1400 | 1500 | 1600 |
| Diamond | 1700 | 1800 | 1900 |
| Pro | 2000 and up | ||
How your rating moves
Paintballer uses Elo over placements. A free-for-all of six is five head-to-heads at once: finishing above a player rated higher than you earns more than finishing above someone rated lower. In Team Deathmatch your team’s result counts. The most one match can move you is about 48 points.
Seasons and soft resets
A ranked season lasts 12 weeks. When a new season starts, every rating is pulled halfway towards 1100. A Diamond player at 1900 starts the new season at 1500; a Bronze player at 700 starts at 900. Good players climb back quickly, and everyone gets a fresh race.
Where to see it
Your division shows on your profile page, in the game’s Compete hub and on the leaderboards, which you can view globally, by country or among your friends.
