Paintballer for parents
Paintballer is a free paintball game in the browser: short matches, bright paint, no blood. Here is what your child does in it, and how you stay in charge.
What the game is
Two teams (or everyone against everyone) tag each other with paint. One hit and you're out. Matches last two to eight minutes, against other players and computer bots. Players can also build maps and game modes and share them with the community.
Safe by design
- No free-text chat and no voice chat between players. Only a fixed list of quick-chat lines like “Nice shot!”.
- No player search. Friends are added only with a code, and protected accounts need your OK.
- Names are filtered. A protected account plays under a generic name until you approve one.
- Protected accounts only ever see non-personalised ads, and never between rounds of a match.
Protected accounts
Everyone gives a birth month and year when they start. Under 13, or under the age of digital consent where you live, the account is protected until then: quick-chat only, no voice, no sharing prompts, a generic name, Everyone-rated community content, and no buying without you. Nothing about the birthday leaves the device.
Your controls
From your dashboard you approve a custom name and friend requests, choose the chat level and the content rating, set a monthly spending limit and daily playtime, and get a report every week.
Content ratings
Every community map and mode is checked when it's published. The creator can choose a higher rating, never a lower one.
Ask a parent before buying
When a protected account taps buy, you get an email with a one-tap link. You see what it is and the price, and you pay yourself, in your name. Nothing is bought without it, and never past your monthly limit.
Get started
On your child's device, open SETTINGS, then PARENT, then GET A LINK FOR A PARENT. Open that link, enter your email and type the code we send you.
Questions parents ask
Is Paintballer free?
Yes. Everything that matters in the game is free. Pro and the premium pass are optional, and a protected account can only get them with your approval and payment.
Can strangers talk to my child?
No. There is no free-text chat and no voice chat between players. Protected accounts use quick-chat only, and you can turn even that off.
What do you know about my child?
A random player id, game progress and, for protected accounts, playtime. No name, photo, school or birthday is stored. Your email is used only for approvals and reports.
What happens at the age of digital consent?
The account stops being protected on its own that month. Until then, your controls stay as you set them.
How do I stop the weekly email?
Turn off the weekly report on your dashboard.
How do I report something?
Use REPORT in the game, or write to hello@paintball.ai. A person reviews every report.
