Safety for kids and parents
How Paintballer keeps kids safe: no free-text chat, no account needed, friends by code only, filtered names, protected accounts and parents deciding on buys.
Paintballer is built so kids can play safely. Here is how, in plain words, for players and for parents.
No chat with strangers
There is no free-text chat and no voice chat between players. Players can only send fixed quick-chat pings like “Nice shot!” or “Follow me”.
No account needed
Play instantly. We never ask for an email, phone number, real name, birthday or photo. Sign-in is optional, and we keep only a scrambled id from it.
Friends by code only
You cannot search for players. Friends are added only with a friend code that you choose to share.
Filtered names
Player names, team names, tags and map prompts go through a filter. Names that break the rules are hidden and replaced with “Player”.
Parents decide on buys
The game is free and coins are earned by playing. Pro and the season pass are optional; a protected account can only get them when a parent approves and pays. See the parents page.
Cartoon paintball
Players are hit by paint and walk off. No blood, no injuries, bright colours.
For players
- Never put your real name, school, address or age in your player name.
- Only share your friend code with people you know.
- If something or someone makes you uncomfortable, tell a grown-up you trust, and report it to us.
- Take breaks. Matches are short so it is easy to stop.
For parents
- What it is: a free, browser-based, cartoon-style paintball game. Short matches of about two to eight minutes.
- Who your child plays with: a mix of other players and computer-controlled bots. Players cannot message each other beyond fixed quick-chat pings.
- Data: progress is stored in the browser. Online play keeps a profile under a random id. See our privacy policy.
- AI: bots, some maps and the referee and caster voices are made with AI. The voices are generated, not real people.
- Made maps: CREATE builds maps from short text prompts. Prompts are filtered for unsafe or branded content before anything is built, and reported maps are reviewed.
- Deleting data: clear the browser’s site data to remove the local profile, and email hello@paintball.ai to delete an online profile.
Reporting
Use the report option in the game, on a profile, team or clip page, or email hello@paintball.ai. Tell us the player or team name and what happened. We review every report and can rename, hide or remove profiles, teams, maps and clips.
Note for review: confirm age-rating guidance (for example PEGI/ESRB self-assessment) and the reporting response time we commit to.
